Wonderful Wednesday

Well one month between posts is not too bad...huh???  Lots to report.  Molly's teeth are still in, so far!  We go back to see Dr. Chuck in the morning to find out what is happening with that situation.
Stevens and George are out of school!  Yeah!!! I don't know who is more excited...me or them?
Last week was a catch-up / crazy week.  My mom's dear, dear friend passed away on Monday.  She had fought a long fight with cancer, but she is at peace now.  That was, and still is very hard on Mom.  But, as we know God is good and we ended our week on a much happier note with the birth or Robert Stevens and Thomas McCain Sanford at 4:01 and 4:21 am Saturday June 12, 2010.  Mom and babies are all doing well.  I of course have not downloaded all the pictures from my camera...but I will and I will post pictures later.  Thanks for tuning in...until next time...TTFN!

Monday, Monday...

Here I go once again trying to blog. There are so many precious moments that I want to remember forever. The problems are many: I am not very eloquent, I don't think well after 8 o'clock, and life is so busy...but here goes.
Today Molly and I had a fun day spending time with Tata and Scotty. We went to Target, got Toy Story Toys on clearance, and don't forget the Icee and Popcorn! We had lunch at Chipotle...yum. Then we were off to South Park. We had a few places to go and things to get, but mostly just time to kill before picking up "Stee" from school. Molly loves to go into Pottery Barn Kids and "play." We were in there "playing" and Kathryne told Molly and Scotty that it was time to leave. Molly looked up at her and said, "But Tata, I thought we were going to do lunch?" We both fell out laughing. We had to remind her that we had already 'done lunch'...she just didn't eat anything!
I think the reason that I find this so hard is that I feel the need to write about everything. Every day is filled with stories I want to remember...like the big boys fitting into the already full car with back packs and golf clubs; me forgetting to make arrangements for George...AGAIN! Thank you Sam for not reporting me. Like, Stevens reading well and answering her comprehension questions almost all on her own! And like Molly pulling out the yard sale piano game and composing and writing "love songs to Bubbie." She would play and sing them on the piano, then "write" them on her note pad, and run to the play room and give them to Bubbie. I heard him say in the sweetest tone, "Thank you Molly. I love you too. You are the best little sister ever." Melt my heart.
Of course all good things must come to and end. Just as I was getting supper to the table, Molly fell smack on her mouth and bumped her teeth back. She cried and cried. I wanted to vomit. We called Dr. Chuck and he said to wait until tomorrow and bring her in for x-rays. I am still sick as I sit here 3 hours later. I know that it is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but she looks different and that makes me sad. She has always had and overbite that was accentuated by her sucking the paci. When she smiles her two front teeth stick out over her bottom lip and now the don't. I feel like I have lost a piece of her baby look. I know that is crazy but I am sad. Brian just came down to say that she is in her bed crying and wants medicine to make it feel better... gotta go!

HAPPY EASTER!

The Fam
Star Wars...cool!
Stevens loved her bunny!
Molly was more excited about the candy!
Can you tell that we just woke up?

The new Air and Space Museum...awesome!
Before going up in the Washington Monument

"Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!"  What a beautiful day to celebrate the Resurrection of our Saviour.  We are so blessed to be surrounded by family on this special day.  The cousins woke up early to find their Easter Baskets...they all love some candy!  We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then off to church.  We love the little church that Kat and Scott attend here.  It reminds us of our old church that we loved and miss.  My favorite part of the service was at the end...the choir led the congregation in the Alleluia Chorus!  It always gives me goose bumps.  After church, we came home and ate a wonderful lunch- Honey Baked Ham, green beans, brown rice, Mom's orange salad, and biscuits.
Brian and George have gone into the city again to go to the Museum of American history.  Stevens thought that they need some father son time and that she should stay here...truth be known, she couldn't care less about another museum!  :)  Bless!  George on the other hand is all about learning new things.  We had a 30 minute discussion about the ends and outs of "climate change" on the way home from dinner last night.  I'm sure he will have some interesting discussions with his teachers the next time it comes up at school.
Kat seems better today.  I think she was able to "clear a path" yesterday.  We cleaned up the house this morning and she is getting a nap right now.  The movers will be here tomorrow to pack the first wave of stuff for India.  It is "game on" now!
Well, I must go get ready for the next event... an egg hunt/ cookout here tonight.  Before I go, I am going to try and post some pictures.

Our last "hoorah" with the Sanfords

We are visiting the Sanfords in DC for Easter weekend.  They leave on May 7th for their one year tour in India...we hope only 1 year?  So we are trying to get in as much family time as we can before they leave.  You would have thought that we were going to Disney World as excited as my children have been.  For the past week, we have had the count down every day,"How many days left?  Can we pack today?"  Stevens was the really lucky one.  She got to drive back to DC with Tata and Scott last Sunday.  Her spring break was this week.  She came to "help babysit" so that Tata could start packing and getting ready.
Mom, Dad, and I drove up with Molly and George on Wed.  We made it in just over 6 hours with 2 stops...Dad says that is b/c I was going 90 the whole way...not true!  The speed limit is 70 most of the way, so you can make great time.
Brian is at home with our new child, Jack.  He is our 12 week old puppy.  Big Lew babysat for us yesterday while Brian was at work.  Thank you Big Lew.  Brian and Jack are coming up today as soon as Brian can get away.  We are all very excited to see Jack...we have missed his crazy self.
Pop really took one for the team today.  He got up at 6:30, rode the Metro into the city, and got in line for tickets to the Washington Monument.  He waited in line until after 9:00.  When he got to the ticket window they said that they did not have 6 tickets left for today!  They were able to give him 2 tickets for 3:00, 1 for 3:30, and 1 for 4:00.  So Kathryne and I took Stevens and George up at 3:00.  (We kind of cheated.  We put our stack of four tickets together with the 2 for 3:00 on top.)   Anyway, we were first in line for the 3:00 group.  It was really neat.  It turned out to be a beautiful day, so we could see all the sites from the top...Lincoln Memorial, Capital, White House, Mall, Jefferson Memorial, and all of the Museums.  Our driver, Pop, dropped us off, parked, and waited for us to come back.  He is so good.
We are back at the house now.  Molly just woke up from her nap, George is playing in the back yard by himself, and Stevens is helping with Scotty.
Tata is feeling a little overwhelmed so I am going to try and help.  You know "warm and fuzzy" is not my strong suit....but I can organize!  :)

Trying to change my blog????

Well here is my second trial at blogging. I want to change my back ground and layout to look cute like everyone else's...how do I do that? I looked at the choices underlayouts, and there are not many. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is a beautiful friday afernoon. I am sitting on Mom's sun porch with Scotty...who is not happy right now because Baby Einstein is over. Molly and Scotty have been playing in the yard with Jack (our new puppy) all morning. They are both so dirty. Well I think we are going back outside again. I may try to post again later.

My first shot at this "blogging" thing!

Okay, I am trying to come into the 21st century...a little late, but at least I am trying! :) It is Thursday, May 15th.
Tomorrow night is The York County Ballet's performance of Peter Pan. This will be Stevens' farwell performance. She is done! She has taken ballet for five years! Can you believe that? She is ready to move on to tennis. We are going to try lessons this summer. She is very excited. Stevens and I have been hitting balls in the front yard for practice.
George is talking to Scott and Tata in spanish right now. They are having an in depth discussion about languages. Go figure??? George is playing t-ball this spring. Brian is the coach. George wants to try Karate this summer. We are all about new adventures! George loves being outside. He climbs trees, plays in his fort (the bushes), and chases squirrels. He is all boy!
Molly is going to be 2 next Saturday. We are having her party this weekend. It is a Baby Einstein Party. Molly loves, "Baby Steim!" She also loves Hannah Montanna..."Untanna!" She can sing "The Best of Both Worlds." Yes, she is my worldly child.
Brian is always busy with work! George says that Pop has a better job than Daddy because he gets home earlier and he doesn't have to travel as much.
I have tried to start exercising again. You know it is bad when you have to ask the guy at the YMCA to look up your password to get in! Yes, it has been a while!
We went to the mountains this past weekend for our last stay in the house. It was definitely bitter sweet. We had a great time. We ate at the Daniel Boone Inn on Sat. night and Sun. morning. That did not help my attemps to loose weight! :)
Well that is enough for one entry. TTFN
